Description
The Symposium on Disability and Ministry 2023 is an annual opportunity for pastors and ministry leaders to engage in issues related to disability and ministry.
This year we invite you to experience Universal Design in Learning as we worship together using inclusive practices.
Hear former WTS Nouwen Fellow Dr. Sarah Barton as she leads us to think differently about baptism and disability based on her book, Becoming the Baptized Body.
Attendees who can join us in person will be able to participate in a workshop on "How to preach healing texts and more" led by ministry leaders.
Attendees will also get to know the authors of the first book in the Center for Disability and Ministry series co-branded with Intervarsity Press, Andrew Draper, Jody Michele, and Andrea Mae, as they discuss Disabling Leadership: A Practical Theology for the Broken Body of Christ.
This symposium, at Western's campus, Saturday, July 15, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, includes breakfast, lunch, and a time for networking and is FREE to all participants.
Dr. Barton’s plenary lecture, along with the community worship, will be available via livestream.
The Symposium on Disability and Ministry 2023 is co-hosted by Western Theological Seminary's Center for Disability and Ministry and the Collegeville Institute.
